I was wondering why i have only ever seen i footwear ad [ K-swiss ] and several beauty or fragrances adverts but no fashion or clothing ads.
Why is this?

I agree. You never see adverts for shops like Topshop, River Island, Primark and other high street brands or even designer labels despite the fact that Gucci, Armani etc advertise perfumes on TV.
The only clothes that get advertised on tele are children’s clothes from places like Asda or Tescos.
I know you can’t open a fashion magazine without being inundated by adverts for clothing labels so maybe they think advertising this way is more effective as their target audience is more likely to read magazines than watch tele?
The only clothing advert I can remember is GAP and I haven’t seen that for years.

In the UK I have seen many, mostly for sportswear such as Adidas and Nike.

You may have seen one without realizing it. Many clothing commercials emphasize clothing removal and activities associated with it so that you’ll only notice it’s a clothing commercial if you happen to catch the brand logo at the end of the commercial.

Normally those top brands don’t do tv promotions but you can find them in posters and banners from all over your city.
